In step #4.4 of Transition from MIM to HyperSync in 4 steps the migration to HyperSync involves Working with Providers. Essentially a Provider is to HyperSync what a Management Agent (or Connector) is to MIM, but with some important differences.
Provider Mapping Table
As with MIM's Supported connectors | Microsoft Learn, there are a number of generic and system-specific providers which enable like-for-like connectivity. The following is an extension of the above table to assist you in your selection of the appropriate Identity Panel Provider to use in your HyperSync migration:
Proprietary Providers
The available list of Providers – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com) is constantly expanding, but presently includes each of the systems referenced above under "Connector for Web Services":
- Panel Provider for MySQL – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure IAM – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
The following is a list of additional providers which are presently not "out-of-the-box" with MIM:
- Panel Provider for Beeline – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for Duo MFA – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for Epic Healthcare – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for Google Workspace – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for IBM Informix – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for Okta – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for PostgreSQL – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for SAP Success Factors – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for ServiceNow – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for Windows Local Users and Groups – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for Workday – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
- Panel Provider for Zoom – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com)
ECMA2 (Extensible Connectivity 2.0) Provider
Many MIM implementations employ the use of the Extensible Connectivity 2.2 Management Agent Reference | Microsoft Learn for "custom" connections where MIM provides no native support.
Similar to the concept employed in the Microsoft Entra on-premises application provisioning architecture - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn, Identity Panel provides a "wrapper" to your own ECMA2 implementation. However, unlike with the Entra model, this does not limit you to SCIM. This means that Identity Panel can provide full and delta imports as well as export support, providing the same is already supported (or supportable) today with your own MIM implementation.
Use the Panel Provider for ECMA2 – Identity Panel Product Information (softwareidm.com) where you have a MIM connection implementation of an ECMA2 management agent to migrate, either
- as a permanent provider to both fast-track your HyperSync conversion as well as continue to achieve ROI in your bespoke, 3rd Party or Microsoft-supplied MIM connector; or
- as an interim provider until a direct provider alternative can allow you to retire your legacy ECMA2 components - noting that this option usually requires additional configuration to leverage a potentially different connectivity model.
