Update PanelCheck SMTP Password

To update the password, you need to have permission to log on to the server where PanelTool is installed and have access to the service account password or  permissions to generate new secrets in for Applications in Entra.

The typical installation folder for PanelTool is: 
C:\Windows\Program Files\SoftwareIDM\PanelTools

• Once connected to the server, open notepad as an admin.
• Open the config file, and scroll the the PaneCheck section
• There is a section for SMTP, and you need to find the line with Password.
• The current password will be encrypted.  Replace the password with the new value. You do not need to encrypt it.
• If your using an Entra Application for notifications, you will put the secret value here.
• Save the file, and close it.
• Run the Panel Check Schedule task to encrypt the password.
• Panel Check will then encrypt the password for you and the file time will update.
