The Delimited File Connection requires a license for Data Provider. This provider scans comma and/or tab delimited files as Time Traveler silo.
Settings
File Path – Fully qualified path to the file to scan. May be on a file share.
Separator – Delimiter character, use \t for tab delimited files.
Has Header Row – Select if the first row contains field names. If no header row defined you MUST enumerate every field, in order, in the Row Fields box.
Has Quote – Indicates whether values are quoted
Key Field(s) – Which field to treat as the ID field for the row. May use commas to delimit multiple field names.
Row Fields – Ordered, list of fields in the file. Optional if a header row is present.
Reference Fields – Select fields (e.g. manager) that should be interpreted as a reference. This only works if the Id is a single field and if the reference field has values matching rows for the Id field.
Object Type – The value to place in the Object Type parameter in the time traveler. If a value in square braces is given it will be treated as an object type column name.
Initial Scan and Scheduling
After configuring and saving the provide a scan option will be available in Panel Tools. After validating the provider with an initial scan you may create a File Scan schedule step.
The File Scan schedule step should be given an Environment parameter, and should generally have a Preferred Server parameter so that the scan is performed in a location where the file is accessible.
